Make sure you promise and provide that the content is original...something like "No 3 word phrase" guarantee on copyscape...!!
Reviews for get your business started, but only Quality will get your business booming and get repeat customers..

    Simple advice: be honest.

I've been personally getting burned by content producers more and more on this forum lately. Once you get a negative reputation here it's impossible to recover.

The other big piece of advice is to make sure everything you do passes Copyscape, like someone mentioned above. Duplicate content is a backbreaker for any sale.

If you look through some of the threads in the Copywriting forum, you'll find a lot of information about how to make it as a writer.

I would focus mainly on quality and marketing. In time this will work out. Just make sure you are patient. Many aspiring writers give up before they realize what is out there.

I would suggest that you don't write for free when you're starting out. Yes, you need to build clips and get experience, but you can do that without allowing someone to make money from your writing when you receive no payment in return.

If you can't find paid work, write samples that you can post in your writing portfolio. Or, find a nonprofit organization that you support and offer to write for them for free or for a reduced rate, in exchange for allowing you to use them as a reference.

Always provide original work to buyers, and be aware that rewriting others' articles is a form of plagiarism. If I am doing a lot of research, and I'm concerned about making my articles too similar to my sources, I will do all of my research and take notes in one session. Then I will walk away from the computer and come back later to write a draft from my head. This reduces the chances that I will use similar phrasing and makes my content even more original.

Always proofread your work before sending it to a client. If you are not confident in your proofreading abilities, you can find someone here or in similar forums to proofread for you. The better your articles, the more satisfied clients you will have and the more referrals they will send your way.
