How do these article websites get tens of thousands of articles? I'm confused. Don't you have to upload on article at a time; if your a publisher? Or do these guys just bot and scrappers to index all these articles?

Websites like ArticlesFactory - com has 250kpages index! Really big!

Well time allows for many different publishers to submit different articles... They probably also start out with a database of articles available for such things, I have many articles myself that I haven't written, but I could put them into an article site like this according to the terms of republication that came with them....

Usually they are part of a network of a main site also. So if you are using one of the main article directories scripts. The also add your site into their publishers network.

Thatway it gives you instantly more articles, and another website for their publishers to place their article on.

    Win win for both parties.

Yes, I have a new user of my Article Script that imported 30,000 articles, so it seems quite common to start with a DB.

I started Free Article HQ with 5 articles I had written, and then posted info about the launch. Now I get 10-15 subs a day. I just passed the 1,000 mark last week.

I don't scrap any articles and I review all article submissions before I approve them. Starting with an article DB is a good way to get a start, but how do you know how many other people have it out there?

It took a couple of months before my site took off, but I just promoted it in directories and forums and after about six months am averaging about 50 new submissions daily.

My present article site is still gathering dust after about a month up.
Of course, I did not promote it or anything, I just put it up for the fun of it.
Last night, got a new script and got it uploaded to a folder on a site just to check it out.
Once I find a decent domain name for it, will put it on the new domain and run with it.
    See the script here: http://www.tebids.com/articles

Oh, also will have to find a decent template for it, and logo, etc etc

But one small step at a time.

Many people are selling databases of articles.
You also need to add some articles daily to your site to make it lively and SE friends as fresh contest is better liked. :)

We started articleaddict not too long ago with a few of articles. Did a small amount of promotion in writers forums and this got a lot of sign-ups and our db is growing. We do review the articles for content, spelling, interest, etc, etc. Not all submissions to our site get published.
