I've had autoblogs steal a partial of my posts before, but today is the first time I saw another blog with my entire article (including pics) on it. What can bloggers do about article theft?
Report it to every major search engines, report it to every advertising platform the copycat is currently on, dispatch a warning letter to the copycat to remove the contents, defame him at your blog.
Install a feed copyrighter plug-in, block his IP, and take revenge! XD I got my articles scraped by blogginworld.org, so look what I did: http://www.tw3o.com/i-got-attacked-by-a-splogger/ Now the autoblog posted the article (link above) and now he features his stupidity on his homepage. Bwahahaha...
Read you article...nice. I think that plugin won't work with feedburner, though? Is there any other copyright plugin that works along with Feedburner? I googled it but didn't find anything.
Google's advice on Digital Millennium Copyright Act. You can also hit their hosting provider with copyright infringement but the response you'll get will depend on the country's laws and how professional they are.
Thanks guys, reps comin' your way. But yeah, anyone know of a feed copyright plugin compatible with Feedburner?
I have this one installed, but I don't have it activated. Read up on it before you activate it. Maybe someone has experience with it: http://blog.taragana.com/index.php/archive/wordpress-plugin-to-automatically-add-copyright-message-to-your-rss-atom-feeds/
So I did what mizaks suggested...change the pics to something else. They're not nasty though, just a sign that says "article stolen from fresh geeks". You can see more here http://tinyurl.com/3chpbl if you want.
I have come accross many people who post this question in forums so I finally decided to address it on my blog with a post about it. You can take a look at it by following the link. affiliatemarketingguidetips.com/article-theft-using-article-theft-to-your-benefit Hope that helps.
I have these things happened too, but i wrote emails to the webmaster nicely and they did remove it too. Nowadays, so often people copy exact thing from other websites. Report to the advertisers, if the site has some, after writing nice friendly emails, IMO.
