You think so? Many of the top article sites are great for ranking for competitive keyword phrases that could bring you tons of traffic. In which case, the main purpose is to drive traffic to your site.

ABSOLUTELY you see results - IF you do it right:)

Choosing tightly targeted keywords with less competition is essential, so that your article can rank highly in the SE's. Also, if you submit 2 or 3 high quality articles to a handful of the best directories, you will see a good increase in targeted traffic, which should lead to sales.

When I was starting out I had a small blog trying to sell an ebook I wrote. I read about article marketing and decided to give it a shot. I had no idea what I was doing, but I ended up submitting about 10 articles to Ezine over about a weeks time.

Within days I was getting over a hundred hits to my blog per day. That might not sound like much, but up until the I had been getting about 1 hit every 3 days.

That first round of articles got me 3 sales = $60. Not much, but at that time it was a kings ransom. About a month later Ezine sent me a nice coffee mug that I still use every morning. :)

I've never submitted any more articles and almost a year later I still get a few hits every day that come directly from those first ones.

Is the use of article submitters worth while, or is it better to submit them by yourself/ have someone else do it for you. Is it possible for automatically submitted articles to get flagged as spam in some way?

It is depend on how good your article is, are people interested in what you write about? Article directories are very powerful tool, well I think the best tool no metter what you are doing or trying to sell something or just drive traffic to your site/blog. Best of them- ezinearticles, goarticles, articlesbase, articlealley, articledashboard, ideamarketers, searchwarp, amazines...

Yes, dublicate content is'nt good idea, try to rewrite 40-50% of article, but first submit your article to directories and use article spinner. That's works great :)

I've started submitting articles 2 weeks ago and so far the results are great. I've got some visitors to my site, plus back links as usual. Though, writing articles consume much of my time.

"Article Spinning is the process in which a copywriter or a website owner creates a new article out of an existing article by rewriting it. Typically words and phrases are substituted to put a new spin on the article." :)

Hi question about backlinks from article marketing. Lets say for example I was making a site about cats. In my site i'd have sections i.e. feeding cats, breeds of cats, cat names (??). Anyway, so I make my site, then write an article for say squidoo. They accept it, I have one backlink. should I be re-writing all of my topics from my website as articles, so - one article for feeding, one for breeds etc?? And will that count as 3 backlinks if I were to make 3 articles? or just stick with the one article with each article submission site?

    Many thanks, Alan.

    Hello Alan,

Ideally, I think you would want to write about every aspect of your site in different articles. You can combine some though, there's no reason not to. But really, you have to go at the angle of what people are going to be searching on. People probably aren't going to be searching on "How do I breed and feed my cat?" They would be searching for one or the other. I hope this helps!

    Thanks,
    -Travis

Yes clears it up a bit! And yes i understand that the topics would have to be specifict to as people search. Tell me do people put links throughout their article? or maybe one at the end would suffice? i.e for more cat facts check out our resource for cats (as a link?)

    Thanks again, Alan.

A good way to learn how to effectively article market is by reading their FAQ's as they will give a good insight of what they want & need.
