It would be much better if you can stay away from any automatic submission software as google or any other searchengine do not like this a nd once its brought into their notice you will find it difficult to bring authentication in google's eyes......

Thus do efforts by your physical work and google will surely reward you

Some common misconceptions, regarding to article submissions.

    1. Duplicate contents are bad:

Duplicate contents are bad, only when you have multiple of the same content within the same site. Duplicate contents outside of your site cannot hurt you. Unless you do it excessively (like certain blackhat forum spamming software that I won't name here, that lets you spam into 1.2 million forums).

The rule with duplicate contents, is that Google won't show those duplicates in the SERP, but their page rank juice gets stacked to whichever one of them have the most authority. So if you submit 300 of the same article, that might mean that page rank juice and relevancy score gets pushed to say, an Articledashboard article.

    2. Software submission are bad: This I partially agree, in software cannot select the right category all the time, thus your chance of getting accepted gets lower. And when you keep on doing the same stuff, submitting articles to the same wrong category over and over, you will get your account banned. So you get less and less effect everytime you do a submission. There are a few softwares out there that let you do semi-automatic submissions in which you can choose the category, but those are very time consuming.

Being extremely lazy and all, I don't have the time to write, spin, and submit the articles. So what I do is hire writers to write an article, and then maybe 2 variations of it, then put them through an article submission service.

I did a bit of search and tried out a few services, the best two I like is submityourarticles.com, and unique article wizard (check my signature).

Do article submission really work? It beats directory submissions and social bookmarking, in my opininion, since you can only submit once to a directory for an URL, and same for bookmark (some people loves to bookmark every pages of their site, I don't do that).

Look up "Free Classifieds + "Alex Wu" to see all the articles I created in less than two months. 47,300 search results using unique article wizard (normally, I can do 2000 to 2300 category targeted submission per article, they have 11,000 directories that one can submit to), but it does seems to suffer the same fate as all software submissions in which it submits to the wrong category, and reduced effectiveness everytime.

I am outranking Craigslist for keyword "Free Classifieds", but that keyword isn't all that competitive, roughly 20,000 searches monthly and 81 million pages. The service also give you an option to receive articles, in which I actually received articles from my competitors using the service, it was pretty hiliarious as I get to see which keywords they are targeting in their articles. However, it has pretty strict rules and can't accept gamling, porn, drug related sites, and the site is very slow, and $67 is pretty expansive to pay a month. But it does have good effect, and I am sticking with it until I find a better service.

But i think semi automated software best because we can choose category manually or automatically and add or drop directories.

I agree with Jihoy - submityourarticle.com is very good in that it allows you to vary the content of your articles prior to submission. Something which you can do manually of course also but the submission process takes a long time.
Anybody got any idea how many submission sites are worth submitting to?

I don't know where I would be without automated software for helping my SEO efforts. I have skyrocketed my sales and income using good automation software. The problem is not really with the software. It's just a tool, and if you use it wisely all you will do to speed up your process. I agree with a previous poster that doing things like submitting the same article too quickly to too many directories could cause Google to scratch its head and wonder what is going on. Use the software wisely instead of submitting 10 articles in one day to thousands of directories why not submit one article every day to 20 directories? Don't be afraid to explore automation tools, they are the secret success to many successful Internet marketers.

Here's my rule of thumb, anything "automated" that stamps out the same cookie cutter content like a factory across the search engines is generally a bad idea. Unless this miracle software can make each of your submissions unique or rearrange the title/description/keywords/summary ect.. somehow it is just my opinion that it's a bad idea.

    OK look people.
Software that will allow you to create profiles quickly at a number of article sites will save you a crap load of time over searching for each site, one by one, and then making a profile, waiting for the email conformation and then moving on to the next site.
If you want to do it that way...go for it.

I suggest using the semi auto submission setting on what ever software you are using. You will need to create a few different versions of the article anyway.

Change the headline. Change up the excerpt, and rearrange the paragraphs every now and then and you will be fine. A good program will allow you to swap out terms easily so that every article is not exact.

Most of the articles that are pumped out by webmasters are just rehashed words anyway. Does anyone actually open up a book and write articles, or do most of you just find the information that is already online and reword it ? Exactly !

I don't suggest posting up the same article over and over again, although I have done it and gotten 1st, 4th and 6th place on the first page for the same exact article.

Anything that will save you time, is worth it.
Article submissions are a small part of your overall bum marketing. I for one do not want to spend all day posting up one article to 30 different sites, one by one.

You can use auto submit, you just have to be smart about it. Use it as a tool, not as the solution.

That's great when you have 1 site, but when you have 50 or 100 that are not auto blogged and you have other things to do, you need to get the job done and move on to the next project.

I agree with what hamansfield is saying. Part automated and part manual is the best process. Doing it manual only won't help if the way you do it replicates an automated bot anyway.
