My advice would be not to add your articles to these article directories.... These are a waste of time for many reasons. So your article is on a hundred sites with one hundred links, but the links hold no weight since this is just duplicate content. The traffic you get from these links is minimal since they are just a bunch of free article directories that no one looks at..... Sorry I don't see the benefit. I own a article directory and a loooong time ago I tried the whole submit your article to hundred of places idea. Sure it gets you links but the links are useless and the traffic you get in minimal at best.

Instead... Keep your articles for your own site don’t submit them to these free article directories. Once you do the article is worthless since its just seen as duplicate content. If your going to submit your article to websites, choose one or two large ones that will use your article and that have REAL visitors.. This way you get a link that counts and you get real traffic from people REALLY interested in your article.

Take for example Sitepoint, if you got your article posted on Sitepoint (a real site that has real traffic and real link potential)... This would be 1 million times better the 1000 links from places these free article directories would provide. Not to mention a billion times more traffic.

Surrounding your own site with original content is the key in my eyes. But one or two article doesn't allows do the job. I have said it before and I'll say it again.... keep your content on your own site you are better off in the long run.
