Article submissions for SEO, duplicate content?

    Hi everyone.

Can I submit unique articles that are already live on my site to article submission sites? Or is this considered duplicate content? All the articles on my site have already been crawled by google and a few weeks ago I submitted about 8 different articles (that are already live on my site) to article submission sites like articledashboard.com and articlebase.com and then when I checked if Google picked them up (checked back links) they were there but a few days later they were gone? Any ides?

    Thanks

Duplicate content is duplicate content, wherever and whenever it appears. Google tries not to serve up the same content from more than one source and is generally fairly successful at finding and removing duplicates from the results. If you want to post your material from your website on article sites, I strongly recommend that you modify it first.

You are going to end up having to choose which one you want. Either post it on your website or post it to article directories. If you're just looking for backlinks and your website is already ranking for the keywords you want, then this will matter less.

You'll need to modify very well your articles, because google not only finds duplicate content, they also can spot "Almost Duplicate" content.

Yea, they end up in the supplementary index

You really need to rewrite them to be at the very least 80% unique

Thanks everyone for responding. I will now write two separate articles and then post one on my site and the other I will submit. What should I do with the ones I already submitted? Did I get penalized? Should I remove or delete them from the sites I submitted them to?

    Thanks

I don't think you will be panalized if there are only a few duplicated articles.

If you worry about it. You can rewrite the articles on your site so that you can keep the articles on your site unique.
