    to article submitters,

what is the amount of traffic you actually get from submitting articles and where does it rank from search engines, forums, etc...

I recently dived into this also and would love to know when one can expect the traffic to come after posting articles.

I started doing this recently also. Traffic is not that significant yet. I have heard it takes time. Also best thing to expect out of it is back links.

I also started doing this recently and my experience has been the same as webcosmo. No significant traffic yet, but I'm not expecting instantaneous results. I'm hoping for a more long term, reliable traffic through better page rank.

I am not really sure how to answer this. It depends greatly on many, many factors. A lot of it depends on the niche and how well you write your bio box at the end of the article. But over time, submitting articles can result in a nice amount of traffic. You may not get as much traffic using articles as some other methods. But the traffic is extremely targeted.

Also depends on the quality of your article. If you write crap, it doesn't take you too far.

Your general article submission to directories is pretty poor traffic, also pretty poor backlinks. Its not that effective anymore, people who say otherwise obviously dont know how to get solid links and traffic.

Article submissions are right up there on my waste of time and effort list.

If article submission is a waste of time for backlinks, what are better ways to get keyword anchor links?

Article submission is not a waste of time actually. Its very effective long term process of building links and bringing in constant traffic.

    and

I'm not real sure how in 24 hours you went from just started doing it and not receiving any significant traffic, to stating it's an effective process bringing in links and constant traffic?

If we were back in 2004 i might tend to agree with you, however this isn't 2004.

I started about two months now. First two weeks I had only 6 clicks. Then in next 4 weeks I had 120. Thats increase if you would agree.

Niche may have something to do with it...though I could not say which niche. I've searched for all types of things and I'm not recalling ever finding something from an article site.

And not finding anything from them is one of the reasons I've never personally used one...so take my response for what it is, my personal experience ~ your millage may vary.

Hello. Here are some REAL statistics that can help you.

15 live articles on ezinearticles.com. They were all rewritten blog posts optimized according to what Travis from bum marketing recommends.

4,868 articles VIEWS. 262 URL clicks which lead to a landing page on my blog which made 1 ebook sale for $26.

It's only been about 1 month since the articles have been up.

http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Charles_Ngo is where you can see my articles

To be honest no one can ever predict accurately what kind of responses will be received from "Article Submissions" since so many factors are actually involved like the topics covered by the articles (original or copied, etc), where, when & how submitted & who are likely to really read them...

As a rough guide, the more good, useful & 'valuable' articles you submit on a regular basis, the better your chances of getting some responses. Still no one can fully guarantee you 100%success no matter what you do.

Finally, sending out interesting original stuff (eg. daily motivational poems, etc from my blog http://motivationinmotion.blogspot.com) will be a big help.

    Best Wishes!

After seeing the above posts, I'm eager to check my stastics. Earlier I used to get around 10 visits per day. So I'm not sure about the present day statistics.

When you said you just started 24 hours ago, and traffic wasn't significant it didn't make much sense things changed overnight.

30 a week, why don't you put the articles on your own site and built it up instead of someone elses? I have alot of articles that pull 300 visits each per day, and attract dozens of PR4-6 backlinks rather then a hopefully PR1 article directory link.

You know you could of sold those unique articles for $10 each, so 15 articles you wrote = $150 same day payment instead of waiting a month for $26

Use articles 2 ways. Blog and social bookmark with them. And submit them to article directories. Practice good seo with your title and in the body. Include a good resource box. The traffic will come from readers and from good search engine rankings.

Yes, promoting your own articles can have a profound effect on how beneficial said article can be. I got into some detail about it HERE. Applying that to your article could actually get the article (and the article source) actually noticed.
