yes, because all hacked sites were using article dashboard , script to run the article directory sites. its very easy to use but Encoded... ;-) so A hacker from Arabia attacked the sites running this script, and webmaster have no choice to recover these sites... as well as the support forum is also closed by Article dashboard site. i know a article directory Article Directory with over 125k articles and over40k indexed pages on google, and also hacked by the hacker in last week. and now this site moved to articleMS script, that is not encoded and well supported. thats it
Fortunately those hackers do not delete all the articles. I wonder what Articledashboard going to solve this kind of problem
I am wondering this same thing. I try and shun away from these hacked directories. I wonder what those hackers are after? Well, I hope they will get to resolve this hacking issue.
Pretty much it sucks, but it's bound to happen on wider and wider scales as more directories are built with the same software. Once they find a hole, they can exploit it over hundreds or thousands of sites.
Well - this is bad for me as well. But I checked yesterday - all my articles on articledashboard seemed ok. Are we talking about the same site?
i try my best to recover all the data, and contacted to articledashboard by email. but all in vain. there is no reply from them. all pages are decoded. i have moved to articlems, with brand new DB. but i am still trying to recover the old user name and password from my old DB, coz i have over 15k registered users .
Youre supposed to backup your site BEFORE it was hacked. Not much you can do if its already hacked I guess
One way you could set up for a full restore is to save the script folder into a second backup folder in addition to backing up your MySQL database. Here is a nice MySQL backup tutorial... http://fragments.turtlemeat.com/mysql-database-backup-restore-phpmyadmin.php
The Articledashboard source code is encoded in IONCube, so there's not much one can do, except migrate to another open source CMS. There's a neat wordpress plugin that converts articledashboard to wordpress. LINK-> http://www.articledashboardconverter.co.nr/
