Goarticles do allow a link in your article. Most of the popular article directories allow links in resource box, otherwise why would someone submit articles to them? However, very few allow in the body of the article, which is a shame as the CTR would be higher.
You may try articlebase and articlealley. These sites allow you to give a link to your site in article body and resource box.
Hubpages and Squidoo are not article directories. eHow also is not an article directory, but you can get baclinks from it.

Technique: Keep an eye on the search results on a daily basis -- make notes of which serps entries are articles from directories. These will be the best ones to submit to at to the current time.
