Article submission VS Directory Submission

Just looking for thoughts on this for link building purposes not for affiliate sales ..

Which is better article submission or directory submission?

Directory submission is much faster but Article submission links seem to show up faster and hold more weight for me. Any thoughts?

 

Well, i dont know.. I have tried directory submission but article submission not yet.. But for me both play the same..

 

I would say that article submission brings better results but takes more time as well. I do both for my sites, I think it is also important to build different types of links i.e. article directories, free directories, link exchange, social bookmarking, etc.

 

If your articles are unique and acceptable, publish it to the sites related to your subject. it`s very good for your SERP.

 

article submission much better because it will generate alot of baclinks. When your article published at article portal like ezinearticles.com the it will produce RSS too and your article will be crawled by auto content software generator with your link as a source.

 

Of course article submission is better and gives results much faster.

 

Article submission is better. But for link building purpose, I prefer forum and blog commenting. For time I take to write one article, I can participate in ten discusssion thread or make ten blog comments.

 

Directory submission is undertaken when one is short of time and needs to build quick links while article submission can be taken up when there is lot of time on hand. It requires more effort... with equally rewarding outcome!

you have to do both types (infact all types) of link building work equally for better results

 

ya you are write article submission gives you some visitor but not that much of effective as directory. directory index help you to gain high pr and bring your site on top of the search.

 

Both in my opinion. Article submission definitely takes longer.

 

article submission is better. the page that your link will be published on will contain similar keywords. so it is better than directory submission even if it is slower

 

Article submission is much more better than directory submission.I think now there is not much value for directory back links except some popular directory like Yahoo directory or Dmoz etc.

 

If you are new in SEO just use the directory submission. It helps for the beginners. Article submission gives the fast traffic and quickly build the back links to the site.

 

leepee pretty much has it for me. There are just way too many directories, hard to imagine that many are really that useful. But it is easier than writing a real article, so maybe you have to make your own trade off

 

I'm kindda disagree with this.. It took me around 1 hour to submit my website on around 60-70 directories manually... And the directory links are not so good as compared to article directories..

I can write 5 articles in an hour and submit them to ezine within 5 minutes and dangggg... I got 5 VERY HIGH QUALITY DOFOLLOW links which can serve a hell lots of traffic as well..

 

i agree with akki313. article writing is much better than directory submission.

 

Article submission works well and it is useful way to get quality one way cheap backlinks

 

Why dont go for both, both of them are important. The actual concern is the quality, if you can find quality directory or article submission site, dont miss it, just submit to them

 

You see I have done both for my site and they seem to work but personally I would prefer article submission provided the articles are of good quality and not copied from somewhere else.
