So I just submitted my first article to ezinearticles. What is the average time it takes for the article to be published? and then how long does it generally take for that article to be picked up by the search engines and link back to my website?

    Thanks

Here is a case where it only took a few hours. Don't get your hopes up though, you should expect at least a few days before anyone from the editorial staff gets to it. Google will pick it up fast once it is published. Ezine is frequent stop for the crawler.

regarding getting an article published, it depends on your account level. basic accounts take upto a week to get an article approved by ezine where platinum accounts take few hours to 48 hours at the most.

regarding being picked up by google, it could be minutes once the article gets published.

It takes several days, usually not more than a week.

If it's your first time to submit an article to ezinearticles, generally it takes a week to be approved and published and it also depends on the volume of submission they receive.

Usually the submission process does take a couple days. Since it's slow you might want to game plan like this: It takes 3 unique articles but allows you to stay productive constantly.

Submit a unique article to Ezines
Submit a unique article to Buzzle

While articles on those 2 are being reviewed, syndicate out one more unique article to the other 300 article directories that are working (list on directorycritic). This can take a couple weeks to get registered, and get your list clean and trimmed. Once done, the process takes between 1-4 days to do a full run.

    Write 3 more articles.

By this time all the articles should be accepted, and you are now ready to start the process over again.

*If you still have too much time between acceptance you simply add more places you submit your 3rd article (for mass syndication to). Create a couple hubpages / blogs and put it on there as well. Blogger, Wordpress, Squidoo.

**If you still have too much time between acceptance you add social bookmarks to the mix. Start digging, stumbling, delicious, etc your hubpages, and the articles already approved on ezine, buzzle, and the other networks.

**If you still have too much time between acceptance you can make forum posts for back links :)

The pending period of every articles for each article directory varies (since they are moderated by human editors).
