Article Submission Sites?

I've gotten the idea that you use article submission sites to sell your articles to site owners for them to use on their own sites, but I just read that it's a means of advertising your own articles on your own site.

Which is it? I'm a bit confused.

 

You don't sell your articles, you submit them for free. And then you leave a link back to your site, which will get you backlinks. I think the people that use your article are also supposed to leave a link to your site, but I'm not sure.

 

this is such a powerful tool . I have a few good articles, my best one is position 2 on a content serach of 41,000,000+ on google, i'd say prob generates about 700-1000 hits a day and at least one sale a day, thats for free, not to mention opt ins.

 

We have to submit our articles into other articles directory and need to take keyword rich anchor text backlinks, which can help you a lot in SERPs.

 

google is all about backlinks and those article submission sites are quality backlinks. google loves that.

 

I've done real well with submitting articles. gives me traffic and backlinks, gotta love it.

 

Article submission can be of multiple purposes

Sometimes you might get paid for your articles
Sometimes you might get back links from your articles
Sometimes you might get traffice from your articles submitted.
