I own a message board forum if I post the articles in a thread and then send them out through my auto submitter would it work against me for duplicate content? If it does should I make the forum visible for members only so search engines cant read it? Would that counter duplicate content?
duplicate content is an UN-confirmed theory, although many people believe duplicate content has negative effect on ranking in SE. If you really care, you can use different methods/software/service to rewrite your original article and distribute them by submitter. Some submitters can rotate author resource, article summary, article itself and even paragraphs in articles. It can make your original article much more unique. One of the software is in my signature. temp
You can also avoid the alleged duplication penalty by changing the title of your article. Create 10 different titles and divide them among your submissisions. This has worked well for me to increase the visibility of each article. Here's how you do it. Keep the primary, or anchor text of your title the same, and alter the secondary descriptive phrase. Examples: Alternative Heating: Room For Everyone Alternative Heating: Where Do You Fit In? Alternative Heating: Heat or Eat? etc., etc., etc.
