You can get a link from Wikipedia if someone uses your site as a reference. You could also get a backlink when your site is under the external link or when someone (or you) puts a link to your site in the content/in-text. The links are nofollow so you won't get the PR juice.

The only reason you put links in Wikipedia is for traffic. Almost all pages of wikipedia comes on the first page of google in almost search terms.

Register and write an article about something that is not yet there. Or edit existing articles. But you won't go far if you want to introduce changes not acceptable for other registered users.

Backlinks from Wikipedia are NOFOLLOW, so i dont understand what is the use of getting a backlink from it? first of all getting backlink from it is tough, however, even if you happen to get it, its of not use to your site.

Instead concentrate on other article directories that are DOFOLLOW.

You start out by creating an account on wikipedia, and then create the article you want.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Make_a_page

Those are just "some" of the guidelines. There is a whole page of inforamtion on that link, so go read through it.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creating_a_new_page

But,,,, and here is the important part - the moderators at wikipedia are heavy handed. If your site is the only source of information for the article, chances are your article will be removed and you will receive a warning.

The only way that your article "might" stay is if you are a professional in your field, have certifications, have a masters or doctors degree or have already been published in print. Having a website, and considering yourself a professional, does not make you a professional.

You must provide other resource links besides just your site. And those sources must meet certain standards - such as those I already listed.

Original research can not be published in wikipedia. So if this something that you have worked on, and has not been reviewed by your peers, chances are the article will be removed.

If you'll try to creat an article just for a link to your site, your article will be removed and you will receive a warning. Try Social Bookmarkers or Free directories!
