I think articles are the 'new wave' of linking becuase it forces websites to have content and it requires work! I love the idea. You can easily buy links but you can't buy an article and put your name on it!
Actually you can, if you read through the Buy/Sell/Trade you will see their are countless offers to write your articles. Plus their are sites like www.articlesandcontent.com
By the way - I promised a Top 10 but I have to jump the gun and publish one that was rejected today (submitted using Article Announcer):
Wow thats some good reading yfs1. I thought the point of writting and submitting articles is that the article would be some what useful and others would read it and post it on their site with your link thus each article gives you a few misc. one way links. I just cant understand why things like this would be submitted.
Because Article Submission sites are so popular right now and people think they are easy to run. They soon find out how much time is involved reviewing articles and turn off their admin panel. This means all these half a** sites flooding the market let users post anything. This has fueled the popularity of programs like article announcer amongst spammers. I obviously rejected this article
I can tell from my logs. After a while you start to recognize paterns and its pretty easy to spot where a submission came from.
Ysf1, What is the benefit to submitting articles to a service like yours, links to my site? Is there added benefit to submitting articles regarding my site's subject matter?
Not just the definate link when you submit your article (from us), but the potential links due to publishers and the RSS Feeds Absolutely, usually these articles are picked up and used by related sites meaning you get links on related sites. Many argue these are more valuable when it comes to SEO. That is theory of course but it does mean more visitors then if you wrote an article on Pets but had a site delaing with Credit Cards
Just cause a few people submit crap articles with article announcer doesnt make it spam, people can submit crap with out programs its just make it easier to submit spam.DOH and that article goes againt every think article announcer says and tells you to do in the manual & cd. thiers always some one who wreaks it for the rest of us
Unfortunately its more than one person. The vast majority of those using it seem to be doing it. I agree it may not be the intention of Article Announcer but that is primarily how its used. Right or Wrong There are a lot of questionable things on their site though IMHO that encourage it.
that to bad that people are misusing it , as i find to be a great time saver but i only have 4 articles written, need to get more. your said "questionable things on their site " dependin on how u read it i guees.. but listening to his audio cd's he legit and has the best intentions. Jason's all for quality artilces and he teaches us how to create them. but u see the other side as you own a article directory. I would let him know this and see what he says, maybe he can fix/make changes to the software.
You make a good point and I understand the software can be used for good in the right hands. I think we got off on the wrong foot because you posted your affiliate link so I honestly didn't know your motivation for saying how great the program is. I personally think $400 is way too much for something that is basically Roboform along with documentation and tips that can be found in most forums, but we can agree to disagree. If it is working for you, then its worth it to you. I just thought a blind acceptance of something that most people will find repetitive and unneccesary was a bad angle. Sorry if I came across confrontational but I felt there is another perspective to this program and people would benefit from hearing it.
I would agree that 400 is a lot of cash but how long does it take to submit one article or several articles to 10 sites or more im sure a few hrs. now add this up and i dont have that much time in 48 hrs yahoo has found 1500 sites with my article, now manually how long would that take.. u would have a good idea, runing a article directory. and ya posting my aff link wasnt the best way, i ll handle it better in the future, Im much better at speaking then writing what im trying to say.. so some times it comes out wrong.
yfs1 - you judge articles based on the article themselves right? not on the way they were submitted i hope. i have been considering trying out some article submission software as i have quality articles but have been submitting them by hand. as yet no article has ever been rejected, do you think this would change if i started using submission software?
Well, I wrote my opinions over a year ago in this thread but at the time, the automated submissions were hit and miss in quality but they were so aggresively submitted (overall, lots of hidden spammy stuff) that I just blocked the submitters. Every article site would be different though. I'm not sure if these submission programs have improved or not (I sold my site so Im onto bigger and better things)
I use software to submit and it works fine. The good thing is that you can sit and watch as the software logs into the site, selects a category, inputs the data and submits the form. They all get accepted with no difference to hand submitted articles.
