    ARTICLE SUBMISSION Countdown

All of the 5 sources listed have Free submission and above overall par service – no backlick required to them before your article is submitted. Be careful though of one with costly paid submission options.

    1. ArticlesBase – Page Rank 6, fast issue, good category choices. Moving upward extremely fast.
Allows linking directly inside article, fresh news accepted, Minimum of 4 backlinks, issue is only slow on weekends. Weak articles could suffer here as readership is lower. On the other hand, the ratio of converting readers to the website is much stronger. Will accept localized business, and current news.
    2. EzineArticles – PR6, was PR7, good issue time, editing only fair, strong point = high readership, virtually impossible to get “edited” article approved. Special privileges for paying $97.00 monthly. Poor response to best writers. Many writers are looking at the quantity of poorly checked articles. The accepting of articles of only 250 words means little substance is gained. Living too strong on past reputation. While audience is growing, it is questionable if the push for quantity is a factor.
The accepting of articles of only 250 words means little substance is gained. Living too strong on past reputation. While audience is growing, it is questionable if the push for quantity is a factor. Plus the numbers of articles issued is too fast for audience increase.
3.A1 Article] – PR5,Over 1,000,000 articles. PR5, easy issue, lots of readers, independent (not affiliated) Very Overlooked, which means new articles get adequate attention. Nice look to site, responsive to submitters. Moving upward. Well worth submitting at least a rewrite of a quality article.
    4. Buzzle – Page Rank 5, Very impressive amount of categories, although Top Level Categories could be better. Impressive Amount of Traffic. Currently received. Content Quality level of articles one of the best. Time still to early to tell if readership level will increase at a higher paces than articles submitted.
5.Article Alley Page Rank: 5. Relatively quick issue time. Great selection of Categories, Not quite enough pushing of exposure to outside blogs and directory sources. Keeps articles listed for years. Article in a category are ranked by how they appear. This would favor quality articles , while hiding poorly written or comatose subject matter at the bottom. The currently annual rate of growth is at about 20% growth.

WHY IS PAGE RANK OF AN ARTICLE DIRECTORY IMPORTANT?
    1. Picture a chess game. The rook looks firm and stable, while a knight prances its heels out of predicaments. They can both knock out pawns, but the rooks does it straight, one pedal to the metal.

Now it you look at Google's game board, a rook at PR5 or PR6 value when combined with a structured SEO article, can knock out of the way many competitors, including an occasional knight. The PR3 knight might win battles with great maneuvering, ending on page two of Google. However, since 93% of the victor prizes are awarded among the top ten, little remains.

If your personal page had a ranking of PR5, would you not want all the readers to already be on your site? Immediate issue, high density of keywords, no discrepancies from lunch hour editors. So what you are really doing is using the article directory. They in turn are using you for all the adsense and other advertiser revenue. Always write in threes. One for two article directories, and one for the website.

Please try to avoid at this time talking about other directories. Discuss on these right now, your opinions, your results, how you maximize benefits, or ask questions. Please stay on track to these five right now.

Interesting timing for me the past two days. Yesterday I was struggling on a client piece and writing a response to Kraven's thread led me to an approach. Today, as I am writing an article for my first foray into article submission, you posted this.

To be honest, I'm still not a fan of giving away good pieces in the hopes of getting backlinks. Why not keep it for your own site has been my primary response to article directories in general. But many writers swear by it and it would appear you are on your way to launching a major resource. So, I thought it might be an interesting experiment on one of my under-performing content sites.

That said, I've really nothing to add to this conversation specifically other than I look forward to hearing what you and the others have to say.

And, how ironic that after about 20 minutes of research before seeing this thread, the article directory that I thought I would try first is your #1 listed site.

I was reading the blog today put out by EzineArticles, stating " Embrace the concept that 20 imperfect, traffic-driving articles are better than 3 perfect articles."

First of all, an imperfect article cannot drive traffic. It takes a high level of skill to produce prevalent search phrases that people enter to find your article. While quality writers are being trapped in a minefield, articles that quake like jelly are piling up. I think Chris got his mind churned with the saying "there is always room for jello." It is now, that their #2 ranking should be noted as 2-. I see a once moral lighthouse in the dark and troubled sea of injustice.

Ezine use to be the big guy with article submission but they have let a lot of things slip and I still see a lot of bad articles somehow slide into ezine. I have heard a lot of good things about ArticlesBase and do agree with you there. The best thing about them is that you don't have to pay $97 per month to get somewhere so that could be another reason as to why they might be moving on up.
