Perhaps write your article, and add it to your own site, rewrite it and use an article submission tool, then pick a few of the bigger/older syndicated sites, such as GoArticles and Ezine Articles and manually submit further rewrites to them. Biggest problem is rewriting the article of course.
Just keep on posting your articles in directories and SEs and ensure that you use unique content for the various postings as well as highly exceptional content. The better the content is, the more links you will get based on people using your article for their own site building. Just multiply this and you will have INSANE backlinks.
Nothing by itself is guaranteed to bring traffic, but it's not just traffic you want but quality, relevant traffic. Article submission is one part of your promotion process.
