If they copied your article, that means your article was already on go-articles and I know go articles get crawled fast when new articles are added, so they will be ignored NOT you. The other thing you can do is through google webmaster tools, report the site for it Google will check when their article was cached and delete it from their listings.

I get this occassionally and in some instances the cheeky SOBs even copy images from my site, so all I do is leave a comment stating they have stolen my article and have the curtousy to comply with the article sites terms and conditions OR remove the article, normally it is removed within 24 hours. If you cannot comment, look up who owns the domain and send them an email, mentioning a lawyer draws their attention prity quickly.

Subject of Email - Illegal Content on www.

They ALWAYS open these emails and remove the article. They are lazy and thieves.

Amazing! Congratulations! As I was reading this thread I was sure nothing would be done. I am very surprised. That person must have really felt like a dunce when they got that email.

I found someone copying all of my stuff a few months back. He was putting it all on his blog. I checked the whois and realized he lived about 45 minutes away. I handled it the old school way. I called him and said he had 3 hours to take his blog down or I was going to show up at his house (he used his home address for his info).
He turned out to be a nice guy. I guess he had hired someone to write the articles and the kid was just stealing content. he did take his blog down though.

Well good for blogger.com. It always sucks when someone takes your content.

Unfortunately, there're lots of blogs stealing content and there's nothing we can do... I had many articles stolen from Ezine and GoArticles and they jut remove the links and post as their own.
I once even tried to contact the blogger in question and he replied 'GET A LIFE'. I went to google webmaster tool and told them to remove the article from their index as it was stolen but they didn't care.
At least my article was already indexed on Ezine and thus it outranks the thief.

I've experienced the same thing 2 months ago, then I Track the Blog Owner by using Google. Furthermore, I did to find his profile on Facebook, Twitter, Alexa (Contact Info), MyBlogLog e.t.c and his full profile at an Open Submission Form on an online blog community in his town. On it's form, I can even found his home address (Street name, home number...).

The next step, I add him as a friend on Facebook. After He approved me, I send a PM (consists of about 400 words to give a subtle understanding...) along with an ultimatum that: I would report his Plagiarism to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act by using the Infringement Notification for Blogger (Wordpress should be has the same service) if He did not remove URL that contain Plagiarism in 24 hours.

About 8 hours after I found his Copied Post on Google SERP, Thank God...finally he removed the URL.
Buddy...,Add her/him as a friend, send PM--convey your messages mean properly to make her/him really understand, take monitor on her/his online activities. You should Be Patient Buddy. GODSPEED...!

yes, when I find that someone has reprinted an article of mine and either removes the links adding their own, or completely leaves off my bio, I just leave a comment telling them to at least have the curtesy to leave the bio in tact and I sign it with my name and hyperlink to my site.

99% of the time, they add the bio...
