I submitted a couple articles to about 10 article submission site including those like Ezinearticles. But when I check my backlinks, none of these sites come up. Why is this?>

I notice that links on article is no longer counted as backlinks. But it can be a source of traffic.

I assume your articles had proper links in them ;) Someone was posting here a few weeks ago saying they forgot to add links in their articles *snicker*

Maybe the articles have not been indexed yet... Post links to your articles here so we can read them :) (and maybe the bots will follow)

It doesn't matter if a backlink has nofollow. It still counts for search engines.

When did you submit? It takes some time for articles to be indexed in SEs.

ezinearticles.com has hundreds of thousands of articles...some of them never get indexed.

And did you check that the article submitted was also indexed by the search engine? Before it appears as backlink, it should be index first even if it is already live on the article site, this doesn't mean that the article is indexed by SE.

Try searching for the name of the article in quotes
    "this is my article"

This will tell you how many times the article has been indexed and what sites have your article. You can then check to see if there was a problem with the way you made your link.

Fact of the matter is it takes time for the search engines to index the page that has your article. Shortest time I've seen is a day, but for other, less popular directories this could take longer.

I have hundreds of backlinks for my sites from ezinearticles.com so unless Google has made some big change recently to not count them I think it is much more likely that you just have not given it enough time yet to show up.

submitting same article to 100 article directories will not help you. google will filter them.

It takes time for article directory owners to review and approve your article for publishing. The larger article directories can get hundreds of submissions a day.

Article sites do help increase the link popularity of sites. You should wait and see the stats increasing for your site. They don't get indexed so quickly. Google might be a little strick in counting them as backlinks, but you will see them being counted on other Search Engines like Yahoo!

    Hi,

Article submission is very helpful and has boosted my websites with lot of visitors. Especially I thanks ezinearticles. It has tremendous potential to bring visitors back to your site. Present your articles and resource box in a proper manner. It will surely help you!!

I don't think yahoo shows all of your links from articles because the content is duplicated so many times but it still helps with your search engine ranking.
