that depents on what you expect from an article site. if you want to have a big and big article site (like me) , i strongly suggest you to use joomla. it's a complex cms and it also has so many extension
You can find GuppY at www.freeguppy.org. The original site is in French but you can swich to English by clicking on the English flag.
My advise : Go with Joomla...you have many extensions where to choose from....also is a stable CMS.Good Luck !
okay. i've heard that joomla puts a strain on servers. especially on really big sites. thats why i havent really tried it yet
You are welcome. Actually, I would suggest you to test several CMS and I am sure you will find the one that fits your needs the best.
I'd recommend drupal. Install the write modules and it's a perfect article site with great SEO (SEF URLs using clean urls, path and pathauto, taxonomy, etc) and some great modules. It's also pretty quick. It's more of a CMS framework so you can really make it what you wish, including an article site. Plus it's quick (I had serious speed issues with another article script) and can handle a large amount of articles easily. It's also not encoded (unlike articledashboard) so it's easy to customise templates. Good luck in finding one that's write for you, mate.
Hi Evoart was suggested to me for an article directory. It's a free php mysql script. Has anyone tried it?
Sorry, I have just found the link. Here it is... http://www.evo-dev.com/products/evoarticles/ Hope it helps. As I say, it was recommended to me by someone who knows this stuff.
Hi, I'm sure you can use adsense - you would just have to put the snippit where you wanted it to appear. It's released as open source under the GNU licence so I think you can do what youwant. Why not download it and take a look for yourself? (Let us know what you think of it, if you do) Hope that helps.
i'm doing the install atm. the demo ont he site wasnt working. but from what i was able to see. its pretty easy to setup and install
Excellent Yes, the site is a bit odd - it looks like they were selling it for $247, but have now made it free. Best of luck.
