Hello, I need some help from some of you Article Post Robot experts, please. I had no trouble posting to article sites, but I can't get the mailing list function to work. I signed up with some of the lists using my Yahoo ID. I entered the Yahoo ID and password on the Other Options tab in APR. I don't know what this means, but this is what was filled in under SMTP configuration: smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com so I assumed that using a Yahoo e-mail address would work. I thought that the APR software was going to sign into my Yahoo account to send the messages. When I try to post to mail lists, it looks like it is happening, but then when I check the group sites, the posts aren't there and there is nothing in my sent e-mail folder in my e-mail account. Can anyone tell me what I am missing in the process? One more question...after posting to the article sites, a window pops up asking if I want to create a history file. I say yes, but nothing ever happens and there is nothing on the history tab. What am I missing here? Thanks for your help.
Hi, did you try contacting David Tang of APR? He is quite responsive. Drop him an email and he would answer your question.
I haven't sent it to David yet. I thought if I posted it here, it would help others who come across the same problem. Yes, David is helpful. I will send the question to him as well, but will still appreciate other people's input. Thanks.
SMTP is for sending emails. Usually, your ISP will provide this information. Or, you can use the SMTP provided by gmail: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=13287&disablechatbrowsercheck=1 if you joined the list with other email (i.e. yahoo email), then you need add this yahoo email to the gmail account, since in gmail, you can only use your gmail account for SMTP setting. It will not be in your 'sent' box. The message is for whether shows the log file. The history should have the project record. what's your OS? temp
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, David. I am using Windows Vista. (I used to have XP and I still had the same issue with the History tab.) I did switch to the GMail SMTP info and port number as well as getting a GMail account. I signed up for a few mail lists with the new GMail account and tried to post, but still nothing. I must be overlooking some small, but crucial thing. Any other ideas/things I can check? Thanks again.
are you using port 587? did you use this gmail to subscribe to these list? if not, login your gmail, go to settings->accounts, add the email. temp
My personal suggestion is to do what I do. MANUALLY submit to Ezine Articles and then use the Article Marketer service to reach the rest. You do have to take the time to respond and subscribe to all of the lists with AM first but after that it's a breeze. Why should you listen to me? I am currently the #6 author at Ezine Articles out of over 70,000. If you Google me like this: "gregg hall" articles you will get over 150,000 results just for my name associated with articles. Gregg
