Im developing a couple sites that im going to SEO.... My question is, Im going to have 400+ articles that have keyword rich content, that I want to put on the site.... For you SEO experts:

Do you recommend putting an "Articles" page on the site, and then just adding a couple fresh articles a day?

Or is it better to have a "Blog" on the site, and then go in and add the articles there???

    Your thoughts....

A blog and article page on your site is pretty much the same thing....I would call it articles (sounds more official) and post a few a day. Then socially bookmark those and make sure you have an RSS feed.

I would put your articles into a blog on your site, instead of on a static web page.

I get great ranking for my sites, with the setup structure going both ways, but the link trackbacks in the blog software is a tool that I find very useful. Plus the auto ping inside of wordpress is another definite advantage.

Linksandtraffic thank you for your advice. I appreciate it. Im thinking of adding the wordpress blog. Do you think im better off gradually adding the content.... Like 20-30 articles a month, or should i put it all at one time?? I was thinking graudually would be better.

Definitely do it gradually. I have seen Google penalize sites that go online with hundreds of pages of content overnight. I would recommend 1-2 per day.

Depends on the intent of your site. Articles and comments tell the search engines your content is fresh. So with each recrawl you get that bonus. Plus you have the additional benefits that blogs provide in RSS FEEDS, and Directory listings. I find that blogs are easier to promote. So if you make your blog part of a larger site you can get link backs to your homepage and then expand your static pages. It really just depends on the intent of your articles. Are the articles themselves the monetization source or are they just to "pull" keyword traffic to your site with the hopes they will bite on a different offer that you put in front of them with the right presentation.
