So, if you look on the content section of the buy, sell, or trade forum here, there are loads of people offering article packs of one sort or another. When I first saw these, I assumed that they were like PLR articles - write once, sell multiple times, so they are actually not great for SEO. I then saw a post on this forum by a writer saying that they were good for getting business. While I have been writing for a while, this idea of pre-writing articles to sell is foreign to me so I thought I would collect my thoughts and ask you good people whether this is correct / get some ideas from you guys / share information and tips. 1) Think of a topic you think is popular 2) Do information research to find broad topics 3) Do keyword research to find relevant keywords 4) Come up with article titles 5) Write articles 6) Advertise articles on forums etc 7) When people buy those articles, ask the buyer if they want any more 8) Repeat. My questions are: -Do people sell the article packs more than once? -How much should you charge for a pack - should it be more or less than you would normally charge for a pack of similar size? -How big should your articles be? -How many articles should be in a pack? -?????
I bet you will get better answers in a minute, but from my experience: Articles are usually up to 500 words. Packs of 5. And no, you can't sell them twice. But when you ask your clients about needing more ask them whether longer/bigger packs would suit him?
I was looking at the content forum, and people are selling article packs of something like 2500 words for $8-20, this seems a little cheap. Is that just a tactic to get contacts with people who are looking for a specifi niche then building up a regular contact?
My questions are: -Do people sell the article packs more than once? No unless stated that they are PLR articles or will be resold. Normally, they wouldn't resell unique article packs. -How much should you charge for a pack - should it be more or less than you would normally charge for a pack of similar size? Most people I have seen charge lower than they normally would get for the pack of articles. For example, if someone usually charges $5 for a 500 word article, and they chose to sell an article pack instead, they would sell it a bit cheaper at $3 per 500 words. It varies from seller to seller but I always notice you get a good deal buying the articles in packs given the quality isn't bad and they are truly unique. -How big should your articles be? 500 words is average but I have seen some as low as 300 words and as high as 1000 words. -How many articles should be in a pack? Again, it's up to the seller but there are many sellers who sell 5 articles as one pack or set. You could go lower or higher. I've sold article packs before and have had good success since people usually like good deals and discounted article packs are hard to pass up especially if the content is good. I will say that you are better off getting your own clients and writing for what your work is worth. You can make quick money selling article packs but you just end up selling yourself short in my opinion especially if you are a very good writer. Now, it may not be that bad if you can create good content quickly and you are getting some long term clients from the sell of article packs.
>>> Some do sell the PLR pack more than once with the disclaimer to make sure to re-write them. The buyer would need to do it anyway, because the articles need to be optimized for their target keywords. The fee would depend on the niche the PLR pack is about as well as the number of articles on it. The minimum should be 500 words, but that's the average and some make it as low as 300. It's up to you whether to go above or below that. I think about 5 to 10 is enough. You can go more definitely and charge it more. Hope that helps. Have a good day!
