please let me know, if i should focus on article marketing or link backs from real websites?

Getting backlinks from as many different sites is vital. At the moment I have found that getting backlinks from closely related blog commenting is working well for me.

Article marketing/submissions still work. Try to optimize your articles for long term low competition terms. So not only you're getting back links, you're getting SE traffic to them. You can even build links to them. Link diversification is always recommended and if other sites pick up your articles, it creates more links to your site. It sorta works like link baiting. The structure and method you use articles to create links and the schema they fit in your campaign makes a difference. Think out side of the box.

Open up Powerpoint or your favorite slideshow software and break up your article in to slides. Then turn that slideshow into a video and upload it to youtube.

Once you get it, it is quick to do and you could see alot more traffic to your site.
