Article Marketing

I have been submitting articles to various article directories. It seems that each directory has such a wide variety of rules regarding placing your links and using html codes. My issue is with each subject.1. Links - is there any type of directory that shows which directories allow your links?2. html codes - I have found that each directory has their own set of rules so it makes it very time consuming to submit articles when you have to re-learn which codes are allowed. Any advice of the above?

hmmm, every directory is different, but i use one called articlegather.com which has more of a wordpress interface. No knowledge of HTML code needed.

    Hello Wildblue,
You cant get an directory with list of article submission sites which allow html codes. But yes you can get complete list of article submission sites that are allowing writers to put do follow links in article posts. I cant post link in this post, so i m referring the name of such directory Vretoolbar, it is a site where from you can check the article ubmission sites with their respective page rank information, and they also describe do follow and no follow nature of sites.
If this helps you, please inform me.

    Thanks.

What are you going for quality or quantity? There are plenty of utilities out there to help automate all of your article posting. I would google something like "html allowed + article directories" and go from there to start :)

You would be much better off syndicating your articles, if article marketing is what you wish to do. The article directories were never designed as a marketing tool in this respect, and they do not work well for article marketing either.

    Try this plan instead:

    1. Publish your article on your own site or blog first to establish ownership in the eyes of Google and the rest. Wait until it has been indexed by Google at least, then...

    2. Publish the article on EzineArticles.com. The reason for this is not so much for traffic, but more for syndication. Ezine owners and website owners use this directory more than the others, so there's a good chance of your article being picked up and used somewhere.

    3. Spend time searching for suitable blogs and sites that seem likely to publish your article, the more prominent and highly trafficked the better. Get a list of 10, 20, 50, 100, 1,000 - or even more.

    4. Contact all the blog and site owners, offering them your article for publication. If it is well written and a good match for their site, they are likely to agree to publishing it. Of course, you will have a well-crafted resource box in place with a link back to your money site.

This is the true way of article marketing, in a nutshell. Once you can build up a large group of blogs and sites that have published articles from you previously, you will find it very easy to syndicate your articles on a regular basis. The blogs and sites where you publish should be chosen for quality and good traffic. Article marketing performed this way does not rely on Google's whims, and the traffic you will receive is much better targeted too.

One last thing... If anyone is thinking duplicate content, then you really haven't got a clue. Syndication is perfectly acceptable to all the search engines. It's how press releases are so successful, after all, and it's how article marketing works best too.

Yes, possibly the most popular, but NOT the most efficient and profitable method of article marketing. Intelligent syndication beats mindless article submission to directories every time.

I have the same problems. Most of the directories have different rules. Which takes alot og time to post articles. But it is well worth the effort.

Unfortunately or fortunately for some the reason why the search engines still love article directories is because of these rules, which the best of them manually check to see that they are re-enforced
