ok but is a lens a new "page" or is a lens just a "content" added on a single page. I mean, when you do 30 lenses, is that all on the same Squidoo page or is it 30 different "sites". Holy crap did i just confuse myself
Your not taking into account the lifetime value of each article. Those visitors keep coming long after the first week. And even when/ if they drop in the SERPS, you still have link juice flowing to your money site. Beyond that, you're not gonna make real cash trying to write everything yourself. Now that you're making some sales, you should know your metrics and what you can afford. Outsource and scale = WIN.
I link all my articles into my lenses, I like squidoo for landing pages I also link straight to affiliate offerings from my articles using a redirect domain from go daddy, I repost my articles at go articles article base and on ocasions isnare for distributions I really like the ideas in one week marketing if your looking for an action plan using articles and squidoo i really rate it it uses all free methods
As others have stated in this thread the best thing that you can do is test. I have personally found that in some niches I can average $15 an article with a little keyword research, while in other niches I only average around $3 an article. I also have about 5 pen names that I write under at ezinearticles, which helps brand yourself as an expert in each niche. Of course I am going to concentrate on the niches that make the most money per article! Just do a little keyword research with the google adwords keyword tool, or seobook. Do not focus necessarily on how many searches a term gets, just make sure it is getting some search volume. this is the simple formula that I use for article marketing, and while I do not average $100 a day with it, if you can commit to write 15-20 articles or more each day I am confident that I could make well over $100 a day. I am in school write now writing my senior thesis, so it is just a matter of time before I take article marketing full time.
You know, I think I'm gonna spend time this weekend writing articles using dragon voice. So, RJD...400 views and 280 clicks? I must be doing something wrong. Maybe you could share with me that article?
@rjd When I say 30 lenses, I mean you make 30 individual lenses with 3-4 content blocks on each one. A single lens is one page with content. You'll figure it out once you sign up and start using Squidoo. It's very easy and can be done really quickly. Just a quick note on Squidoo lenses: DON'T try to sell on your Squidoo page. For one it makes it look bad and it probably won't rank well and for two, Squidoo is cracking down on these and actually shutting down lenses for being over promotional of affiliate products. What I do now is just provide good, quality information and provide links to a few of my best articles that I have written for whatever product I'm trying to promote.
your article is fine but i find with longer articles the CTR is less. I only do 300-400 word articles and i make sure i have my link as high up as they let me. I think with the length of your article people get bored..BUT is is layed out nicely with bullet points so who knows.
Yeah, I think you are right...I'll try some smaller articles this time around...maybe the top 5 electric guitars! hehe
from 3000 views 100 clicks to affiliate link, but that is 3% conversion rate to actual product page, what about product conversion (with your link) itself from that article ? If it's 1 sale out of that 100 clicks what to brag about ?
I agree with John Galt once your making some money you should start reinvesting aspecialy outsourcing your writing saves so much of your time for other important stuff
I agree with outsourcing to a certain extent. However, it is possible to get up and budget your time. That is, take 2-3 hours at the beginning of your day to write. Does it suck? Sure. But it saves you money, and you have the ultimate control over your content. On the other hand, if you have the right budget, outsourcing is the way to go. My opinion, though, is that if you have a nice budget, then you might move away from article marketing altogether to target bigger, more lucrative projects. (not that article marketing can't be lucrative, but it's all relative)
The ROI for me depends greatly on the niche and SERP position. If you get an article for a performing keyword high up in the searches, that can be enough for a self-sustaining income.
I don't want to hijack this thread or go too far off topic... but just out of curiousity is anyone here consistently pumping out 20 articles or more per day? I have done as many as 25 in a day, but I just get burned out. I am sure that some of you are, just wondering what kind of earnings you see with that amount of production. I am sure that it varies from niche to niche, and is based on how well you promote the articles. Any rough estimates or ideas though?
I dont think you would ever be able to make $100+ a day from article marketing. You can only expect backlinks and traffic from submitting articles to article directories like ezine.
Yes I know it can be done, I know a few people who make around $80 a day article marketing, but I am sure that much more can be achieved. I know just from taking somewhat lazy approach I have managed to make $100 on four different days. Now I just need to find out how to turn that into $500 days
