Article Marketing with Clickbank (My Journey)

Well I thought I would document my progress so others can see and so that I can reference to it later on if I need to.

I got my first article accepted on March 20th, 2008. After my first 10 articles were submitted, I was upgraded to Basic Plus Status, which gives you an extra 25 articles to submit.

My first 27 Articles have been published and they are all on the same topic, which has resulted in 1,334 views with 239 URL Clicks through to my website, where I push a click bank product.

It took 100 hoplink clickthroughs to get my first sale, which was quite exciting. This gave me the confidence that my articles are actually doing something. Plus, I know that all these articles will be useful one way or another in time. Whether it's direct traffic from the directories, or whether it's traffic from the search engines.

Today I started promoting a 2nd product. My plan is to write a few articles for each subject and test to see if they have any interest, or if there will be any buyers.

I see so many people succeeding with this method so I thought i'd give it a try and document my step by step process. I guess i'm about 2 weeks in but i'll be documenting every step of the way.

Well, it's time to write more articles!

Congrats in your first sale . Like Nadavs mentioned it the first one is always exciting .

    Here is my 2 cents

Instead of picking product after product . Why don't you take 10 to 15 mn of your time go over CB market place , find a niche that you think you will feel comfortable with ; get a few products from it ( maximum 5 ) . Write a at least 2 articles for each of them . Of course link them all to your website . If in case you are not getting sales you will still get traffic .

Once you know the products that are converting very well , back them with some usfreads , some squidoo and etc ...

Please when you are doing these squidoo's and usfreads link all of them to your site . Then just repeat this step over and over and over . Then you will decide whether or not you want to stay with this niche or go for another one

    Good Luck with your project

I submitted an article on Dec. 14 and here are the stats (BANS software):

    100 url clicks
    5 published
    6 sales

I can live with that considering it is a set and forget kind of thing.

That's very good advice, I guess right now i'm just trying to make sure I get platinum status at ezinearticles.... are you allowed to send them to your own url like.....

    www.yourdomain.com/product1

    www.yourdomain.com/product2

    www.yourdomain.com/product3

If that is allowed, that'd be a great idea to weed out the winners of the bunch.. I just don't want to risk my status.

Some of my articles are winners the first day will tons of click through's... while others only get a small number of views and maybe a click through or two... i'm still trying to find out what it is about those high converting articles that gets them to go to my website.

Thankfully Im a very quick writer and have the ability to write alot of articles pretty quickly. I'd like to see some success with bum marketing only as I KNOW there are people that do it.

The way I look at it is, they all can't be losers. Of course after I find some success i'd like to incorporate some PPC into the efforts, but first things first.

So far today i've written 10 articles on a new subject, just need to wait on ezine to approve them and get me up to platinum. Until then I guess i'll be writing and saving a ton of word documents. I'll update when the batch goes through and there's a little time to test them out.
