Okay, I feel really ashamed asking this question now with over 200 articles and close to 150 blog posts published, BUT, I'm going to humble myself..... How do you determine high quality targetted traffic to your articles? I'll say what I THINK it is: Let's say I am promoting a product that teaches you how to properly wax your car. Do I write articles SPECIFICALLY about waxing cars or can I also write articles about car care in general, washing your car, interior car care, etc. and still promote the how to properly wax your car product? I just hear so much about getting high quality targetted traffic and I just want to make sure I'm doing it right... Thanks!
I would definitely write articles that surround how to properly wax your car, and do keyword research on those articles as well. I don't really see anything wrong with writing about car care in general, but the traffic might not convert as well. Try to get traffic as laser targeted as possible. You'll have more conversions that way. Another good tip - When writing your articles, make sure to put your keyword first, then something describing the article. That way, you'll have a better chance of ranking in the SERPS a bit higher. For example, if your keyword was "How to Wax a Car", you should have your title be: How to Wax a Car - 5 Reasons Why You're Doing it Wrong instead of 5 Reasons Why You Don't Know How to Wax a Car That might not be the best example, but you get my idea.
Be honest, are those 200 articles really working for you? would you say they have PR? Cause lately EA is terrible. I will continue to try and become successful like you guys some day.
Honestly, the only time articles work for me is when I get lucky and they sit over the weekend on EA. Other than that, it's really nothing impressive....maybe a sale here and there. I used to be able to figure out how to get my articles to sit over the weekend, but nowadays EA is very unpredictable. Some of my articles get approved the day after I submit them, some get approved 4 days later, and on and on... So, with that said, out of the 200+ articles I have, I've probably made around 50 sales...HOWEVER....half of those sales came from ONE article that ended up sitting for 90 days under the "Most Viewed Article" section of EA.
I've got quite a few articles under the most viewed section, and they've got some pretty good traffic, as well as sales from those articles too. The key is to try to dominate a category. I've got over 5 articles in the "Most Viewed Articles" section for a category right now. That's about half of what makes up that section alone. That accounts for some great traffic too
