For a long time i have been thinking of rattling out it to all here, had some spare time, thought of jotting it down.

An article marketing plan needs to be created depending on your requirement, for an affiliate marketer the strategy is different, for an adsense website strategy is typical, for ranking in SERPs the strategy needs to be different again.

Considering you are looking at backlinks from article, you can go about an article marketing plan like this:

Create an article which can grab the attention of the reader.

Now submit this article to one of the major / high PR sites. If you can think of a long tail keyword for one of your pages (after keyword research, of course) then target the homepage in one backlink and target the other page with longtail keyword in the second link. Many high PR article sites out there have enough capabilities to rank you for that search term while giving you a backlink, you can find my personal choice of sites (that i use regularly) here

Go about creating unique versions of the article, you can write synonyms of words and try to keep the uniqueness above 40%, though the google threshold is 30% (for duplicate content) better to be on the safe side. There are lot many free article spinners available online, though you need to work on it a bit to make it human readable and not like machine created gibberish which can ultimately get deleted from article directories in the long run. To make it look more natural and get you much better results, you can also think of spinning the article at sentence level.

Submit these unique versions to as many article directories as possible, there are close to 1500 working article sites, with 700 of them in particular niches and another 800 general article directories, at any given time you will be able to successfully submit to around 600 sites as only that many of them work properly to accept articles, some of them are always on error or just dont approve the articles.

Don't use any softwares, rather hire people to work for you, that is much cheaper than firing through a robot which will show you success rates, but there are too many false positives to believe it.

Now follow this marketing plan at least once in a fortnight, and you should start seeing results in about 3 months time for even keywords with decent enough competition.

Dont stop there, create squidoo lenses, hubpages, web2.0 sites, lot many free sites offering free blogs, create a site there and develop it, not spamming by creating one and forgetting about it or creating profile and dropping a link there, just one article there is of no use, but if you develop those free blogs too with articles added every now and then can also get you decent traffic from these sites over a period of time when those sites age.

Develop backlinks once in a while to your author profiles at major article directories of yours and not to specific articles, pick up the RSS feed of your author profiles and submit to some RSS aggregators, these steps helps in faster indexing of your articles and backlinks gets counted very fast.

Create those articles of yours in different formats, like in PDF format and upload it to various document sharing sites, those backlinks too gets counted (e.g., scribd), whether backlink counted or not, at least your links gets crawled as search bots are very active on those kind of sites.

This article marketing plan can form 70% of your link building efforts and another 30% can be from other forms of link building like one way links, blogposts submissions, high PR in content links and whatever you can think of, this is necessary to create a diversity in your backlinks so that nothing looks unnatural. Also here one thing to remember is dont worry about dofollow nofollow, since it is not PR that you are targeting but SERPs, so go on about building backlinks and let google decide what to do with your links (rather a decent mix of dofollow and nofollow can also be called link diversity, IMO)

I have practised this for one year successfully on a website of mine which is ranking in 1st page of Google for a keyword with a competition of 200,000,000. It might have taken me a year in development of that site and another year in getting it to that position, but it is well worth the wait as the traffic to that site is so much that i ended up hosting it on a VPS, reward, well you will get it for the work you have done.

Internet marketing is all about patience and perseverence, nothing comes in a day, those who persists with it, will get to see the results. Online business is no different from offline business, you need to nurture and pamper your business if it needs to grow, there is no "get rich quick" strategy anywhere unless you create the next google or facebook, well then for those i don't think you need to have an article marketing plan anyways:rolleyes:

Keyword is "beauty tips" (without quotes, of course and in Google, haven't bothered much about other engines), now don't ask me which website is mine :D, it is very easy to find out with some research, don't want to reveal the domain here on a public forum, i have revealed so much just to motivate you guys to work on.
