Nothing new to me probably because I'm selling hundreds of ebooks about article marketing. Since 1995 I had written hundreds of articles but not getting much traffic from them because most of them are buried deep.
I have submitted about 4-5 articles into ezinearticles and already getting a trickle of visitors. Some have even signed up for my opt-in. Not bad IMHO.

The same article should not be submitted to hundreds of article directories because the SEs will ignore most of the links.

Yep, article marketing works.Some people use article submission services to get more "reach" but I think you will do much better by submitting only to EzineArticles.com.There is no point in submitting the exact same article to hundreds of directories.

I want to say that article marketing is almost dead earlier but I wanted to see how this thread would develop. If you want to get very much higher traffic and serp, make article videos (videos of articles) because SEs can not compare the contents and there will be no duplicate content issue. With different titles (soed) submit to the top video sites and make your self ready (by providing good contents) to receive the organic traffic and repeat visitors (to continue getting good contents). Article marketing is the no doubt very good method to gain some link or popularity. But obviously do not submit same article to multiple directories (I did this stupid thing).
