For those of you who use article marketing, do you tend to use a specially designed landing page for the resource box or just go with the general index or some other main page? I've just started doing it with the intent of optimizing my traffic from articles plus getting some deep links but it is definitely more time consuming so I'm wondering if it's really worth the time.
It all depends on what your home page contains.. If you have a strong home page, send them there. If you are trying to get sign-ups, build a strong sign-up page and drive them there. Include a prominent link to your home page. If you have a sales page (letter), take them straight to the sales page. No need risking them blowing off your home page and never having a shot at a sale. I would make sure to have a strong headline on whatever page they land on.. Works for me... Rick C.
well put carruth00, I've read that if you write a series and then post the first article to an article resource and link back to the second and third articles you can really drive some good traffic as well as pick up some great links.
Rick - your advice is good, but I think you're looking at it from the wrong end of the telescope. The type of page you send people to depends on what you want them to do. If you want them to sign up - go for a squeeze/opt in. If you want a sale, then you need a sales letter. Always pick the right tool for the job
Carruth has explained it well. I'd say your best bet would be to send them to the main page if it contains a nice contents tree to other sections of your site IT
