Posting articles on ezine won't get you any visitors. Articles can still be me marketed greatly using Digg and other social networks. A great article by an expert can bring you 50k visitors over a week. Most videos on expertvillage have 100k views so the numbers are comparable.
It is not true that posting articles on ezine cannot get visitors. I believe that if you post a great article it can be a possible traffic or visitor as well. But it is also true that social media or social network site can bring traffic to your site but if you use it properly.
^I guess this is a great opportunity to market your product. People would love watching videos rather than reading a boring article.
i have a mix of blogs where i use mainly articles and small % of video, i still need the unique content to increase my SERPS. i think it all depends on how you want to convert your traffic. for example some of my sites its really just about getting them to the site and sending them off via a link - in this instance why do i want them to watch a video... this game is all about knowing the medium and how to manipulate it
Dont agree with that, I have seen sites get hundreds of visitors off a single article on ezine, the quality of those visitors could be questioned though as many leave the site quite quickly. If you write a good quality article that fulfils a need in a popular niche then the article will generate visitors. That said, video based articles are definately on the way up - whether they will overtake text articles is another thing but the trend so far does suggest they will. People like to be entertained while learning and video (be it online, TV, or film) is already more popular than reading books. So I guess its natural that as peoples internet connections speed up and technology advances, video becomes more accessible and therefore more popular.
My take is that at least for the next three years there will still be a whole lot of enough "old - fashioned" folks who would still love to read a good article to get any kind of information. Take our case.... if we needed to find out about something, where would we be looking first?? Also internet is all about various hyperlinks for ease of use... and that is more easily achievable in text/html form especially if more than one hyperlink is needed.
btw, interesting site - Thanks for sharing. coventional article marketing is getting devalued cuz' the documents go supplemental rather fast and lose any potential benefit. Better to keep the unique articles on your own domain.
HI, I think what counts is the quality of the visitor and I still think that the "BUYERS" of many digital products and in general those who have money to spend are not watching videos all the time. Anyway, with some decent stats program you should be able to see *where* your visitor traffic is generated and what to put more money in for advertising. Success, Sam
if the video isn't that entertaining and informative surfers will just close the vid and will just focus more reading articles. I think both marketing strategies have its pros and cons. Why not try to do both, though its something expensive and need lots of money but you can make sure of the traffic of your product or services.
