Hey everyone, I was getting questioned in my weekly web conference the best way to experience article marketing... When people discuss article marketing, they are discussing pure keyword rich articles that have real great content within them.. Now if you have created these articles, be sure to submit them to article directories, it will take maybe one hour, and I gurantee within a week or two you will start to see traffic... These people coming to the site can best me monetized by making them opt-in, since they know you have valuable information in your head... article marketing isn't as effective as most people think. Unless your article can be syndicated on sites like Marketingprofs.com, about.com or webpronews.com. The back links are somewhat of a benefit but only the first time around.
Articles mean back links most of the times, but they can also do wonders if a big news source picks up your article and publish it on their site. Thou even smaller article directories directly helps, besides the back links part.

Article marketing is probably my main form of advertising. I don't use any kind of advertising but free. The key is you gotta write and submit articles on a regular basis.
I thought that article submission was useful only for backlinks and not for traffic. Thanks for sharing the information.
Articles are great even for traffic. Check out bummarketingmethod.com. He uses articles to target low-competition words to get traffic.

Let me share my experience. I posted a couple of keyword rich articles on ezinearticles, and a few days later they were ranked #3 and #7 out of ~150,000 results on google. I then wrote several more articles and submitted them to ezinearticles and its been two and half weeks and they have not been indexed yet. So, article marketing works, you just have to give it time.
I've also had articles show up in the top 10 at Google for various keywords, but they don't seem to stay there for very long (except for this one article that's been there forever and brings me about 20-40 visitors a month...). The trick is to target keywords that don't have as much competition, so do your keyword research. Still.. good for some targetted traffic in the short term and backlinks in the longterm. Just make sure you have some form of opt-in so that you can keep the peopleyou're getting
It really depends on if you believe in the "duplicate content penalty", are not afraid, or something of that nature. Someone I know is quite successful in his field, and he submits the same article to hundreds of directories. Some people change it up a little before sending it to directories. I personally have a free rewriting service that generates unique, readable copies so every article I submit is unique. It's your call really on if you think it's worth the time. Some reports and sources do say that it is good to switch up your article to avoid being labeled duplicate content.
Aricles are a good source of getting backlinks, but are not so great for direct traffic gain unless you get your articles on some high traffic sites where your article is in a good part of the site where it is seen by lots of people.
