Can someone or anyone for that matter please explain the difference between:

    yourwebsite.com

    &

    yourwebsite.com/

Please notice the slash at the end of the 2nd URL. Are these 2 different urls or are they the same?

Also, will, or do the Search Engines recognize them as the same URLs?

I thought they were the same, someone told me that they are completely different..

    Thank You Very Much

They are different. A web server could return different results for them if you wanted to/knew how. Google canonicalizes (tries to) the URL of a website it finds. Best to use webmaster tools and tell it what version you want it use for SEO purposes.
