If you are running vbulletin, there's a bunch of free article submission mod's for that software. It works fairly well too.

I use echoarticles.com. It's fairly priced, search engine friendly and easy to template.

I am just today looking into the same thing.

I have different offers from programmers to code one but I am also looking into ready-made solutions before I decide.

Is there any you can recommend that:

A: PHP files are not encoded and rather easy to change.
    B. Login is not required to submit an article but they are approved before.
C: Total SE friendly with static URLs etc.

I checked out echoarticles.com above and 80$ is ok but it seems to be encrypted which I don't know if I would like.

    Thanks!

I've just modified VBulletin to create an article management system for a section of my community forums.
VBulletin has a lot of features already built in, such as templates, member management, content management. You just have to hack/configure it to work as an Article Management system.
Wondering what else VBulletin cannot handle? ;)

I tested just about every piece of article software I could find. I must say that I'm most impressed with Article Live.
