I have several questions on article submission process to discuss with SEO professionals. The first one is about article submission practices! What are your opinions about submitting the same article to numerous article directories? On the one hand it be very difficult and can take a lot of time to write a unique article for each article directory separately, on the other hand search engines can accept these articles as content duplicate and links will not be counted in such a way. How to find the golden middle and to get the maximum benefits from article submission process? What keyword phrases it is better to orient articles on? What keyword phrases it is better to put in incoming link text? It is better to insert a key phrase existing at a website or the key phrase that doesn’t exist at a website? What advices could you provide on this matter?
I think the only way is to experiment. I have often wondered this and think that unique articles must be the way forward. However its costly and/or time consuming.
Well in my opinion - the benefits touted by article directories for article directories is the viral nature of the link building. That is people who need content go to the article directory to find, pull and reprint the articles there with links intact on their own sites. Thus building links virally. When they reprint those articles they certainly don't re write them so I think even if you re write all your article submissions to make them unique you are still going to end up with them being duplicated as they are used. So when it comes to article directories why not jump start that viral effect of the article by submitting the thing everywhere you can? The submitted article is going to end up as duplicate content anyway. I don't think the reward of rewriting articles to be submitted across article directories would justify the time or expense of doing it. As far as your questions on keywords - it depends on your site. You will need to research what the visitors you're targeting search for.
The success of your articles doing the viral effect in the article directory depends on the popularity of the directory. It would be better if you get accepted into some of the high traffic ones like ezine etc. The title of the article is very important and let it be catchy and innovative and write articles on topics that are more searched. Linking back to your site is another important factor that drives traffic.
Quite some good ideas above that I had not thought much about in the past. I suppose there is more to article building then meets the eye.
I've been looking into article directories, and I just can't wrap my mind around how they are such a benefit. Yes, they're a good source of links and possibly, traffic. I guess duplicate content just isn't as bad as I think it is.
