I recently read an article that stated that submitting a unique article to numerous sources would be penalised under the updated Google Panda system. I also recently signed up for an article directory that (for a fee) would distribute my unique article to hundreds of other sites and directories. Will I get penalised for having the same article linking to my site or is it a worth while backlinking method still?
Personally I have almost stopped article marketing to article directories. I now post my articles on my own sites. That way I will never be penalised as they are mine and the only place you will see them is on my site. I concentrate on getting loads of backlinks to my site so that search spiders crawl the site regularly. I've changed the focus from putting my content on as many sites as possible to keeping it all in house and promoting internally. The idea is to have a large site of 100% Unique content in my niches. Article directories are not ranking like they used to so I don't bother much with them any more. IMHO Oda
Exactly what I wanted, fantastic response. I have started a few blogspot pages but I need to register and build up more independant sites. I have a few hundred articles written but wasn't sure where to post them. Your advice has helped a lot. Many thanks.
Yes, never submit the same article to multi directory. it will be always better if you can re-write them. or you might need to spin them in high uniqueness before submit to multi directory. however, re-write is still better than spin
Interesting - good idea to post directly on your site to avoid penalty. You still need to get backlinks some other way though, which is what article submissions is supposed to do in the first place...
I think the point is to submit to both your own sites and directories but ensure that the content is unique in both cases. I usually rewrite rather than spin so the content is of a high quality. I just have to make sure that the link structure between the articles and my ranking website are clean now instead of a big cross over, which Google might detect and penalise me for. If I want to post content on my own sites which domains will rank well for me? Do I need to use .com or .co.uk or will .me or .info work just as well? Many thanks again for the advice.
