which article directory scripts do poeple use that work so well with article submitting software?

 

I believe ArticleMS is a popular choice. Never worked with it myself so I can't give it a personal review.

 

Article Dashboard is good, and it's free.

It displays articles with great Adsense placement that will get you more clicks.

 

i am looking for what php scripts people use for article directories

i know most people use article submitters so i want to cater to that

 

ArticleMS and Article Dashboard is just that. Maybe we're misunderstanding? You want to host an article directory, yes?

 

that is correct but I want to make sure it is one that article submission software can access

 

article dashboard is good. you can link it up with articlemarketer for instance.
also i seem to be getting submissions from another submitter, not sure how i dont remember enabling it

 

so you have to enable them?

also i will assume phplinkdirectory allows link submission software

do these scripts have extensions like most CMS?

 

many many article sites use articledashboard script. they also have a active forum. however, the problem is: the script is encrypted and you can't do much to change it. and it has some bugs. it works ok, but when it has problems, which could be because of your hosting, it is difficult to fix.

articlebeach, the script powered kenbiz's site, it is shared by many webmasters. however, it had a security problem. some sites fixed it, but some not. and the script, which has the problem, is still selling or giving away.

articleMS, not bad. but not many sites are using it. it may take some time to be popular.

articlefriendly, created by a member on DP. I have seen many sites that have database problems, although it may not because of the script problems.

Well, which one should you use? I don't know. Maybe I'll try articlems. but if you want to have articles coming by software/service, use articledashboard.

Simply go for ArticleMS from ArticleTrader(dot)com. You have the flexibility, you can customize as much as you want. If you check google using "powered by ArticleMS", you will be amazed how the people customized it. The default installation is at ArticleTrader(dot)com/articlems/

You have the choice for giving a donation and removing their "powered by" line. Not encrypted, only simple templates.

And you thinking I have a articlems site? Yes, my site in the above list. I am also passionated by articlems.

 

any 1 know if articlems is open source? would i be able to edit it and add new features? of can you only do what it allows you to?

 

Hi gder01, I am an active ArticleMS user and have 5-6 ArticleMS sites. I am also active in their forum located at http://www.articletrader.com/forum/ . If you come to the forum there and PM me here I will contact you......... ArticleMS is not open source. But not locked for editing. Not Encrypted. You can edit as much as possible. Yes, you can also edit its system files if you have a good knowledge in PHP, MySQL and HTML.... Just simply follow the License Agreement in the download page: http://www.articletrader.com/articlems/download/ . And one paragraph says;

The only restriction is you must not use ArticleMS code in other scripts... So you can do any changes with ArticleMS.....
