Article Directories Purely for Backlinking

    Hi All,

I'm using article diretories for backlinking purposes only. Essentially, I am running other niche sites but writing quality articles not even related to my niche on Ezine. My question lies herein. I also use go-articles and currently, I rewrite my articles for each directory. Am I wasting my time? Would it effect anything if I go ahead and post the same article at both Ezine and GoArticles?

I feel you must use an article directory like ezine to have an effect internet marketing strategy if it is relevant to your product or service. I too do not like submitting the same article to more than one directory, because of the fear of duplicate content. I usually adjust the title around and do it anyway. Some say that it does not affect you as far as the duplicate content is concerned.
The bottom line is write a quality article with an inspiring and intriguing content and you will get views. If your stuff sucks then I am sorry no one will ever see it or if they do you will not get much of a click through rate.

Since others have responded, I will as well. Ezine is good for backlinking purposes, but its a good idea to to have a plethora of backlinks from a variety of sources. Ezine is a great place to also get visitors, but if the only backlinks you have are from ezine, you will not rank as high as if you had backlinks from many websites. I encourage you to continue with the ezine articles, but also make comments on blogs or other websites for a more well-rounded approach.

You would suffer a small hit if you repost the same article on both directories, so its up to you to decide which is better use of your time. Regardless, i would post the article on ezine first before go articles.

    Hi Chris,

It's impossible to overstate the importance of backlinking, of course, and I'm sure you're aware of the value it brings. But I think you could be getting great results if you used your articles for more than backlinks and designed them to be gripping and content-laden as well. You won't get only search engine hits but legitimate readers, who will be part of an audience that's tailored to your articles because they were already searching for it. They'll be led into viewing your site, and can develop into a regular audience for your articles.

At Content Crooner we like to help people improve their business with article marketing though both backlinks and dedicated readership (who can then be updated on new articles via RSS or Twitter). We automate the marketing so articles get distributed to a huge number of directories as a matter of course.

So are you saying that you write an article about one niche and link to a site in a completely different niche? If so, why? Maybe I read it wrong but that's what I understand from what you said.

As far as submitting the same article to multiple directories...if you're only doing it for backlinks it's fine. I never rewrite any of my articles. I just submit the same one to a bunch of directories and web 2.0 sites and link back to my "main" article or site but I change the title around a little. I feel it's a waste of time to rewrite each and every article unless you have a good spinning software. Especially if you have a ton of articles that you're using in your campaign.
