Hi everyone, I answered a question about article submission in an earlier thread but I wanted to talk more about article submission so I started a new thread. I see to many people offering to submit the same article to hundreds of directories all over the web. Doing so causes duplicate content penalties, as well as little traffic coming through the link on the article directory. Most people submit to article directories to get inbound links, high rankings on the search engines and more importantly traffic. But why not get traffic through the article directory and a ton of free traffic through the search engines to? Some of the big directories such as Ezine Articles, Idea Marketers and Article Dashboard are trusted websites in the eyes on Google and can get very good rankings on the search engines. By selecting a good keyword, writing a unique quality article which is optimized for the search engines the article can get a very good rank and tons of traffic within a few days. I beg you all to take the time to write unique articles for each directory, submit them manually and create quality content that people will love. That way you will get an inbound link and free traffic to your site to
Article directories are no longer an effective means to promote your site. Your time would be better spent on other methods in my opinion. If you want to write articles, do "one offs" for established sites - not article directories.
I would agree that being unique is good...Another often overlooked method is writing Press Releases...there are plenty of free ones, and they also get indexed quickly, and for the right keywords, they can get you good results too.
Article Submission is very important part of link building has the opener said unique article submission is necessary.
I am currently doing a press release on PRWeb, although there are a number or free press release services available submitting to PRWeb means the press release will spread around the web which is great!
I'm only speaking from experience. I really don't think it's anywhere near as useful as people make out. But then again your site is about article submission so you would say that!
