Article directories and your site?

    Hi,

I've been running a small automotive blog site for a couple of months now bringing in a little under $1 a day with little work, obviously I'd like to increase this and I am led to believe article directories are the way forward for me.

I've a few half finished articles at the moment but I'm not a writer and it takes me ages, so I may purchase a few to get me started.

I'm told that I should put the articles on my site first for a few weeks before submitting to a directory, but I'm worried the search engine will see this as content duplication? Am I right in thinking this?

I would not put on my site the same articles I send to article directories. Maybe it's a personal thing, but if I target one field, I add some articles on my site for that topic and some other articles for the same topic on article directories.

Thanks for the reply, so would you say it is best practice not to duplicate the article content across sites, and does this include submitting to just one high PR article directory (EZine is best from what I gather) rather than submitting to many article sites?

I have two article directories and just don't make too much from them. Too much duplicate content and probably to little effort on my part to market them. I bet you can make more just from your blog.

It's better to rewrite the article before you submit it to ezine directories. If you don't mind rewriting it a couple of times, you'll get more exposure by submitting a different article to each directory plus having another different version on your blog.

I find that Ezinearticles gives me the most traffic but Buzzle is a close second. When I have the time and ambition, I will submit one version to Ezine articles, a different one to Buzzle and a third version to be distributed either via articlemarketer or isnare.

If you don't type very fast, look into dragon naturally speaking. I find I can rewrite an article in about 5 minutes with it. But it's still really boring!
