Article Directories and existing content

OK. I'm not a fan of article directories, and generally follow the "write for your own site, not for other people's" philosophy, and it's done well by me so far. But right now, everything on my new site at www.BizAmmo.com is technically non-exclusive, even though I'm the copyright holder and author (It's no longer published elsewhere, but was already indexed through a content network I just left to build my own site with it). I've decided to allow "most" of the current articles to be included in a reprint list for sale, and I'm considering choosing 1-5 of them to possibly include in article directories ... well after the new site is fully indexed of course... don't want my own site penalized. It should all shortly be de-indexed from the old site and hopefully re-indexed through the new one, but do you think it's a good idea to just give it a try with a couple pieces, or should I keep it on my site alone? I wouldn't be using the most popular articles. Thanks!
