What is the going rate for word when it comes to new unique articles? Is .02 a feasible amount that I would be able to sell articles for? I will soon have 700 articles I am wanting to sell so I am wanting to find out what I could get for those.
Assuming they're all uniquely written by you and not available anywhere else, then based on quality you can get from $0.01 to $0.05 per word for your writing. However, until you have established yourself as a quality writer then you can only expect to be paid $0.01 or $0.02 per word. Hope this helps.
Nice perfect response. Helped a lot. All my articles will be passing copyscape and will be 100% unique
vickylover08 - a lot of this depends on where you are going to sell the articles. Here on DP, as teapoint mentioned, you may not be able to do much better than $.02/word.
Most people on here charge $0.01. You need to get a portfolio together (writing not published elsewhere on the web - your clients wouldn't appreciate being penalised for duplicate content). You might even want to charge less for the first people just to get some feedback, or give bulk discounts. You can always renegotiate once you've shown the quality of your work - people like to use the same writer so that they have a consistent style of writing. You could get more through rentacoder or elance, but then you pay commission so you might not be better off in the long run. I'd suggest only doing about five articles at a time for new clients so that you can make sure that they're happy with what you're doing and so that you can get paid.
At freelance sites, you can get quality article for $5 per 500 words. So you can do work at this rate.
