Great article. Another thing I'd like to add to that is people focus on way too many things at once. They try something half heartedly and decide it doesn't work then move on to another. They keep repeating the process until they ultimately lose hope. Sticking to one business model and succeeding in that is the key in my opinion. Oh and not to quit your day job until you're making a significant amount of money.

I couldn't agree more with you on that; because I was one of them...

As far as quitting your day job, well my position was terminated, so I had to find other means of income and thank goodness I decided to go to the making money online route.

 

focus is super important....a proper plan will help you find it and stay there.

Many people find themselves in a forced position of making an income with no job. Ideally it is great if you have an external source of income while you start a business.

Great Advise. I have had several offline businesses and did all 4 points religiously but somehow (although I do much in my head) online seems to be more challenging when it comes to the fundamentals. I don't know if my issue is because of my offline training which gave me great proficiency in your 4 points or whether I've just gotten lazy.

 

Great article but I don't think key 3 is required if you are highly focused, good with time management and can follow all the other suggestions.

 

reapr, despite popular belief, a human can not "self teach" themselves anything that requires a high level of skill.

You can't teach yourself to be a surgeon, fly a plane or run a business.

Those that attempt to do so have an over exaggerated sense of pride and never achieve their full potential

No matter who I hear this word from, I always thought investment will make a return in the future - and in reality, didn't produce the result I wanted.

Most people think they know how to operate business and they are doing it right, and that's the very reason they fail.

If there had been someone who had "been there" and "done that" ahead of you. They could have told you what to avoid and how to maximize in areas you were not aware of.
