    Hey Guys,

Just posted up an article on Directory Share...

"In 2007 a new innovation in the web directory industry saw the creation of "Bidding Directories" or "Bid for Position" directories. Many general directory owners quickly added a bidding directory to their portfolio in order to capitalize on the new trend."

thanks for the mention of my site

the reason for quite empty cats. is due to my site still being pr0. if you look at other pr0 non bidding dirs. you will notice its mostly other dirs listed until the site gets pr.

as for the home page bids, its due to similar sites wanting the targetted traffic. thats why it wouldnt be worthwhile for a farming site to bid high.

What this suggests to me is that the ability to set different minimum bids for each category would be a good feature for bidding directory scripts.

I don't think this problem is restricted to bidding directories, it's just most obvious in some of these because they are quite popular amongst the fairly small group of webmasters who visit this forum.

I just don't like the idea of putting the words 'link farm' and 'bidding directory' in the same article. There are all types of folks that will skim it and just conclude that you are saying; bidding directories are link farms.
