Hello Fellow Members: I really need your expertise!! First of all, I am sort of a newbie however, I am quickly learning more about internet marketing each and every day. However, I have yet to come across the answer to my question. You see....I like to write and I have wriiten hundreds of quality pages (or articles) on many topics such as art, theatre, shopping, sports, clothing, toys, hobbies, singles dating, religion, music, passions, weddings, prom, technology, ipod, electronics, etc., etc., etc. So, as you can see, the majority of my articles do not relate to each other. Therefore, this is my question...... Which option will be more profitable for me... 1) Should I register for 1 (single) domain and post all of my articles in diferent sections on this one website and draw traffic to this one domain... OR 2) Should I register for different domains relating to each group of articles and post each set of my writings on each respective domain and build and draw traffic to each different website. Could someone please tell which option will be more profitable? Thank you so much!
Option would do okay. Myself, I would get one domain with the domain name having the keyword of the most popular subject you write about. Then subdomain each of the categories.
Hello IowaDog: This question by Princess Leia is similiar to mine. Does it matter to the search engines if the group of articles is under a subdomain or a domain of their own respective domain?
Top level domains rank slightly higher with the search engines, but it's only a piece of the algorithm. The more important parts are the contents of your pages and their quality of SEO, including meta tags and many other factors that I could write half a novel about, and many others have (hint hint). I have a suggestion for the main question here. Why not evaluate your writing and look within yourself... Decide what you like to write about most, what you have the most knowledge in and the most interest in. Then concentrate your website on that. You can then submit your other unrelated articles to article directories with links to your main website to increase traffic and build your name on the internet. You could also sell these other articles for a profit, you'd get more money fot them after you get a little more established. This is kind of an elaboration of sorts on IowaDawg's post, he always seems to have good things to say.
Hello IowaDawg, Tonyb29 and The Exception: Thank you all for your help. I believe I will register for one domain and build my website aroound all of my content including submitting to article directories as recommended by The Exception. Thank you for helping this young damsel in distress!! Much luv!
TheException hit the nail on the head. I did not think of that at the time. But it is true....thanks for him to flesh me out. LOL And hey, I am always ready to help a Texan in need! After all, I am a Texan in Iowa by choice, not birth. Long story.
Thank you, IowaDawg. You are a sweetheart! I am a young Texas honey trying to achieve success on the internet. Send me a private message, okay.
While I'm not from Texas, I like to help out. lol It's nice to see two people like you who are arent's so far away from each other meet in a place like this. ;-) Thank you and your welcome IowaDawg! I speak only truth.
That is a similar tactic that another board member revealed recently. I thin khis member name is Moto. His strategy is to build one master website with everything to do with tech/gadgets. After he's got traffic to the mother site, the most profitable keyword would then create another subsite - separate domain... Maybe that's your long term business plan too?
Hello The Exception: How are you doing, my new friend! You are such a dear! I sent you an email. You all have been such a big help concerning marketing on this World Wide Web. Take care. Hugs
Wow...thanks Mark1! What a great tip! Using a popular keyword on the parent site to launch a sub-site. That's Genius! I am learning so much on this forum!
Since you enjoy writing, you should be able to get into this with a smooth start. I'd strongly recommend writing exclusive content for your own sites. You could make some quick cash writing content for other people, but in the long term, your own content will keep making you money day after day. Here is the steps I would take if I was in your position: Try to focus on one broad catagory. It shouldn't be too wide (ie: computers) but it shouldn't be to small (ie: ipod nano) Make yourself an expert in this area. Research the keywords people are searching: http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/ There was a case study over at Google for AskTheBuilder.com. There is some other case study showing up now when I look for it, and the original. Anyways this guy has tons and tons of content, and each page averages a dollar or so a day.. but there are 1,000+ pages. The trick is to have content that people not only are searching for, but that people will bookmark your site and come back to read later. There are lots of free article sites out there filled with crappy articles, plain and simple. So, make yourself an expert and write Here is how I feel about these free article sites: You shouldn't use them. Instead try to target good sites that are already ranking well for terms you want or have a large user base. Then approach the owner and see if they need content written. This way you can ensure your articles get used, contain links, and the sites that they are on are actually valuable and not just spam.
She's definitely a wonderful addition to this community. I'm doing quite well Princess Leia, as a matter of fact my current project is moving along a little bit faster than I expected and I'm very happy with it's progress. I replied to your email Have you started setting up a website yet? Do you have hosting or a domain name? Any more questions or anything we can help with? Your hug is graciously returned. -The Exception
Hello Forum Friends: I hope everybody is having a great day! Thank you Cutter, Devin09 and Mike ( aka The Exception) for your wonderful replies and advice. You all are so wonderful! Cutter and Mike...your knowledge is priceless! You both should write an ebook...I bet you could make a fortune! I recently purchased Google Cash, the late Cory Rudl's Internet Marketing Course, James Martell's Affiliate Handbook and Rosalind Gardner's Super Affiliate Ebook. I am thinking about purchasing the Rich Jerk's ebook but now that I found this great forum...I believe I have found all of the knowledge and weapons I need to be a success. I AM SO EXCITED AND FULL oF ENERGY!! Wish me luck!
GOOD LUCK! Thank you. About the ebook comment. I've actually written one ebook so far, it's offered in one of our packages at ForumPosts.net. I plan to write more, and I'm currently preparing for a regular newsletter that I will be the primary author in. If you're looking for more ebooks on internet marketing and business... I have a fairly large collection of good ebooks that I have the rights to sell... If you'd like I could offer them all to you for a few bucks... Or a couple for free. I've collected a lot of them over the years of being subscribed to so many marketing newsletters and taking advantage of the occasional special offer they advertise. Cory Rudl is a smart guy, I've read a lot of his stuff. Cheers!
