Arn't We Due For An Update?!?

I've been wondering the same thing, must be almost 3 weeks- or so?

 

It's been a little over 3 weeks. Predict another one within a week (2 weeks at most)

 

Yeah, I could use one 2.

 

I bet by the end of tonight we're going to see something. I'm just waiting for rz to post a Google update 17.05.2004 title.

I'm seeing some bigger changes right now actually- noticed a lot of pages getting hit, my forums are really getting nailed right now. I could see an update in the next 36 hours.

 

He's been so busy lately trying to get his site out of the sandbox that he's not even posting much on any forums.

My forums were hit hard lastnight as well so if that is an indication then maybe we will see an update tonight or tomorrow. I would like to see one because I think only thing holding me back from top 10 right now is my main key phrases anchor text ranking..at # 10 now and maybe if I hit between # 1 and 5 I will hit top ten

 

My forums have also been crawled pretty hard over the past 36 or so hours as well... I'm hoping to see some SEO work pay off with this next update.

 

all my keywords are going the wrong way at the moment *sigh* but the server logs tell me that two googlebots are on the site at the moment, so hope things go back the up way soon.

I changed my title text on all pages from font size="6" bold to H2 and it looks like google did not like that *sulks* so will have to change it back... but will give it time to settle first.

 

Googlebot has been hitting extremely hard for days. I really expected the update would occur tonight, but haven't seen much more than indexing of my new pages. It does seem much longer between PR updates this time.

Have you considered using h1 tags for your title text and simply controlling the font size with css? (Just a thought...)

 

I am seeing 6 googlebots on my site everyday for the last 2 weeks.Gbot..10..11..12..13..14..15. My forum which I just started a little over a week ago already has 400 pages indexed in google so far. Dont know if this is common but I like that it took my page count up and has good anchor text in all the pages.

I would say either today or tomorrow we will see an update but you all know better then I would

If you are talking about your allinanchor: ranking the PR update has nothing to do with it. Read the
McDar experiment thread. It clearly establishes that the allinanchor: results are updated as new pages and links are indexed.

So you may just be fooling yourself if you think the update is going to make any change. In fact SERP placement rarely changes in conjunction with an upgrade. All you have to do is read all the whining messages to all the forums the day after an upgrade asking why their sites didn't move in the SERPs.

 

Atlanta - you will get there, but, by experience, I would fear the worst - do not expect it this time as you are still tooooo early!

Remember it is not logical for a site to be put up and get 1000s of links immediately only time and authority will give those and that is what google expects - so sandbox or not logic dictates that G will not give you that position.

On the other hand what a result if you do.

 

But why has google given me top 5 for most of my other phrases and some of those are 3mm + pages. Like as an example http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&c2coff=1&q=real+estate+atlanta I think I show # 7

No problems - you are doing nicely, and, you have already lots to tell.

"atlanta real estate" and "real estate atlanta" are 2 different phrases and if you look in shawns quick keyword suggestion you will see that you have 435 enquiries per day for atlanta real estate and only 31 for the other

So it becomes very obvious why you have succeeded in the niche areas of the phrases illustrated - no competition, but, don't knock them as they will provide good custom, but equally there is no point in chasing the 3rd position with only 2 visits per day [unless you're having a bet over
weber bbqs where there is only one - two visits per day and 2080 competing!]
