Oh, I don't know about that. I suspect Earl understands perfectly he is demagoging and does it as a matter of practice. Many liberals throw this type of language about with a wink and a nod in the same type of way the white boys in the deep south used to throw around racial stereotypes. The thinking goes, "Sure it's racist, but its funny, isn't it?"

Now if you want to work him up into a genuine lather, say something nice about Sarah Palin. Anything at all.

 

Actually, for people like Earl, I think it's an "ends justifies the means" thing. He thinks that it's O.K. to outright lie if in his mind his opinion is correct. For him, it's not about facts, it's about hatred and intolerance.

In the end, people lie because they know their position is lacking. It's a form of cowardice because he actually thinks it's unfair to point out he's lying. If the facts don't fit his world view, lie.

 

Liberals rarely hold a "position" on anything. Their opinions and morals sway with the wind.
