*From what I heard it's a 3 to 1 odd that Randy Graf will win. There's some odd things going on in the Repub party. The conservative side of it is more or less establishing the immigration issue as one of their top issues; while the established moderate/liberal part of the Repub party are actively trying to support their own. Quite a bit of dislike is wedging in between those interests. I remember multiple polls in conservative forums showing a clear liking of Tom Tancredo or Newt Gingrich as the next president (Tom with the slight edge). I'm not really familiar with Newt as much, but Tom's view on immigration likens to my own. I'm hoping the house doesn't gain a margin on the dems side (just to prevent an amnesty)...and that a reputable candiate gets the next presidency. A normal person would preferable. I'm sure Tom's or Newt isn't perfect, but depending on the situation, I'll have to go from there. No Hillary, that's for damn sure. http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/local/article/0,1299,DRMN_15_4980404,00.html WASHINGTON - An Arizona congressional race has sparked a rift between Rep. Tom Tancredo and the Colorado Republican Party. Tancredo, a Littleton Republican, is backing a fellow, hard-line opponent of illegal immigration, Randy Graf, in Tuesday's GOP primary in an open-seat race. Much of the national Republican establishment has lined up behind another candidate, Steve Huffman. This week, the Colorado Republican Committee sent Huffman a $5,000 contribution, Federal Election Commission records show. The Colorado contribution angers Tancredo, who has used his profile on immigration to boost state Republicans recently. "He's definitely not happy about it," spokesman Carlos Espinosa said Friday. "He wants to talk to them, figure out what's going on. This money should be more of a priority for state candidates." The Team America PAC, founded by Tancredo and run by Bay Buchanan, has been actively campaigning for Graf. In a message to supporters Friday, Buchanan denounced national Republicans for spending $150,000 on ads for Huffman, and the Colorado and New Mexico Republican parties for making $5,000 contributions. "They're working overtime to beat a Tancredo/Team America candidate," Buchanan wrote. Hans Gullickson, executive director of the Colorado Republican Party, defended the contribution, calling Huffman "clearly the most electable Republican in a district that is key to keeping a Republican majority."
That PAC also endorsed Sharron Angle in her bid for NV-2 and she was defeated by liberal Republican Dean Heller. She also had the Club for Growth Endorsement and that is a BIG endorsement. She had Chris Simcox and many other border security advocates endorsing her, yet she was beat by the Liberal Republican establishment. What we saw happen in Nevada is the establishment Repubs came out to defeat the conservatives. It wasn't pretty.
Many Liberals think that there's a majority agenda (in congress), but there isn't. There's only certain things repubs can accomplish in legislation, due to the obviousness of liberal thought seeping into the party. Most of the repubs enemies are in their own party.
